Document Management System
Implementation: Direct Marketing Firm
A direct marketing company wanted to create a document management system for
its deliverables and templates. The company lacked centralization; each department
managed its own documents and preferred not to share its documents with others.
Classification and indexing systems were also needed to provide an organizational
structure for the documents.
ECM Consulting Services met with executives
in each of the departments to discuss a centralized
document management system: gathering feedback,
educating about the advantages of such systems,
and obtaining sample documents. Working with the
IT department, KiF customized
an internal software system to manage the sample
documents. KiF also
created a proprietary indexing and classification
system for the documents. The new document management
system fostered cross-departmental cooperation
and increased productivity.
