Cynthia Cheng Correia, Principal
As Principal of Knowledge inForm, Cynthia Cheng Correia works with professionals and organizations to achieve effective competitive and market intelligence outcomes through better understanding and implementation of research, analysis, and information management tools and processes. She has helped companies develop their intelligence practices, facilitated corporate information centers’ expansion into competitive intelligence functions, maximized organizations’ information, content, and knowledge base for competitive intelligence, and conducted training in generating expert-level intelligence research and analysis. Cynthia works with clients across industries, including technology, financial and business services, pharmaceutical & healthcare, information & content, law, and consumer goods.
Cynthia brings cross-disciplinary expertise in competitive intelligence, knowledge and content management, information center management, business information and technology literacy, and business research. Previously the Director of Information Services at Fuld & Company, Cynthia oversaw a range of information and knowledge-related intelligence services, including multilingual literature research, client projects, and a research collection of competitive intelligence resources. She also led knowledge management initiatives, as well as provided consulting and training services in research, information and knowledge processes, and intelligence software selection.
Cynthia has authored or appeared in publications, including Super Searchers on Competitive Intelligence (Information Today), Information Outlook, LLRX.com, Location Intelligence/ Directions Magazine, The National Law Journal, Law Practice Magazine, Boston Women’s Business/Boston Herald, The Stamford Advocate, and Medical Science Liaisons Quarterly. She is also the author of Knowledge inForm’s Competitive Intelligence series of Know!Books, webinars, and seminars. Cynthia is a frequent speaker on competitive intelligence and information/knowledge-related topics, and has been featured by the Society of Competitive Intelligence (SCIP), the Special Libraries Association (SLA), Information Today, American Association of Law Libraries (AALL), the Massachusetts Business and Economic Development Summit sponsored by Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners, Simmons College, and the New England Online Users Group (NENON). Cynthia is the creator and lead instructor of SLA’s Competitive Intelligence Certificates (CIC) program. Cynthia is also adjunct faculty at the Simmons College Graduate School of Library and Information Science, and she has held other instructional positions.
With a background in both information science and competitive intelligence, Cynthia holds a Master of Science Degree in Library and Information Science from Simmons College, and a Certificate in Competitive Intelligence from the Fuld-Gilad-Herring Academy of Competitive Intelligence (ACI). She is an active member of the Special Libraries Association (SLA), where she is In-coming Chair of the Competitive Intelligence Division. She is Editor of Intelligence Insights, and author of the column, “In the Know,” for Competitive Intelligence Magazine. Cynthia serves on the Steering Committee of the Boston Chapter of the Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals (SCIP); is a member of the American Society for Training & Development (ASTD) and The Association for Strategic Planning (ASP); and is Past-President of the Alumni Association at Simmons College Graduate School of Library and Information Science.
